About this product

Power your Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac vehicle with a Genuine GM Parts 6T70 Remanufactured 6-Speed Automatic Transmission Assembly. This automatic transmission is electronically controlled for smooth shifts and durability. The torque converter in the 6T70 uses a single-plate lock-up clutch and features a 'hyper-elliptical' oval cross-section shape. This design reduces the thickness of the torque converter, reducing the space it needs, and keeping the overall width of the engine and transmission as narrow as possible for underhood packaging advantages. A chain-driven, off-axis fluid pump provides hydraulic pressure for shifting and lubrication. The pump features vanes that can vary its output, optimizing the amount of energy the pump needs to operate. Internal tests have demonstrated improved powertrain efficiency with the variable-capacity pump. Remanufacturing transmissions is an industry standard practice that involves disassembly of existing units, and replacing components that are most prone to wear and failure with new components. Damaged and obsolete parts are replaced and are end of line tested to help ensure they perform to General Motors specifications and high-quality standards. In addition, remanufacturing returns components back into service rather than processing as scrap or simply disposing of them. Only Genuine GM Parts are tested to meet GM Original Equipment standards and are designed specifically to fit your vehicle.

  • Transmission slippage
  • Unusual sounds from transmission area
  • Transmission fluid puddling
  • Transmission hesitates when shifting
  • Transmission slipping into neutral when in a particular gear range

Certain automotive parts can be recycled and remanufactured for future use. These parts have a "core charge" that is used as a deposit on the portion of the part that can be reused. The reason for this charge is to encourage the return of your old part. When the recyclable component from your old part is returned to us, the charge is refunded to you.
