Before purchasing and installing an engine camshaft position sensor, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle
- Keep engine oil changed and level full for proper lubrication
- Avoid running engine if overheated
- Check alignment of timing marks after sensor replacement
- Regularly inspect engine camshaft position sensors for signs of damage or wear and replace them if signs of damage are found
Signs of wear for engine camshaft position sensors include but are not limited to:
- Check engine light illuminates
- Hard or no start of engine
- Poor engine idle
