Good Maintenance Practices:
- Before the purchase and installation of a diesel particulate filter, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Regularly inspect diesel particulate filters for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found.
- Refer to your Vehicle Owner's manual for additional vehicle maintenance practices.
Signs of wear or damage for diesel particulate filters include but are not limited to:
- Increased idle speed
- Increase in fuel consumption
- Illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or Check Engine Lamp
