Good Maintenance Practices:
- Before the purchase and installation of a skid plate, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Keep mud and debris from building between the plate and the engine.
- Regularly inspect your skid plate for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found.
- Refer to your Vehicle Owner's manual for additional vehicle maintenance practices.
If you wish to use the skid plate on a new vehicle, make sure it is still compatible, and replace it if not.
- Loosened plate
- Missing mounting bolts
- Loose or broken attachment mechanisms
